Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy
Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (BCST) is a non-invasive modality in which the practitioner applies gentle receptive touch to evoke the client’s innate healing capacities. This allows the body to “shake the Etch A Sketch” so patterns of disregulation are released and patterns of healing may emerge.
While it can be used throughout the body, treatment typically involves the spine, organs, diaphragms, and pelvis. BCST gently mobilizes the craniosacral system to improve the circulation of cerebrospinal fluid. It supports and settles the nervous system and can reestablish restorative states.
I received my BCST certification with Carol Ann Agneessens and Ray McCall at the Dr. Ida Rolf Institute. Ray and Carol have been teaching for over 40 years and hold the lineage of BCST in a Rolfing context.
My Teachers
Ray McCall has 43 years of experience as a Rolfer®. As a DIRI Advanced faculty member, he teaches Rolfing® Training, Advanced Training, and Continuing Education classes both in the States and Abroad. His particular interest is the energetic taxonomy and how change occurs: how we more fully become and express who we are.
Ray trained to instructor level in Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy.
Carol Agneessens is an international educator and bodyworker. With 40 years of experience as a rolfer, rolf-movement instructor, and, more recently, a Biodynamic Craniosacral therapist, Agneessens easily shifts from the bio-mechanical to the embryological paradigm to resolve structural issues concerning form and function. Carol Agneessens is the author of The Fabric of Wholeness (Quantum Institute Press, 2001), which explores gravity and the movement of daily life.
Kathy L. Kain has practiced and taught bodywork and trauma recovery skills for more than 42 years. She teaches in Europe, Australia, Canada, and throughout the United States.
Kathy’s trainings cover various interwoven focus areas, including trauma recovery, somatic touch, self-regulation skills, and resilience. These focus areas ultimately weave together into a unified somatic approach to touch, awareness, and embodiment. Her educational approach encourages students to engage an ongoing practice that deepens their skills and expertise as they gradually embody the work and make it their own. https://somaticpractice.net
