Testimonials

The Safe and Sound protocol offered space for me to experience and explore deeply held patterns and let them begin to release within the safety of my own vast state of being.  The Protocol emphasized allowing experience to occur naturally, which promoted a sense of trust and safety that I experienced alongside emotions arising.  While listening to the SSP, movement was encouraged through art and movement, which supported a deep connection with my changing experience.

16 months a long journey to get back to my “normal” self began.  It all started with what seemed to be an innocuous knee injury skiing with the family.  The couple days following the injury no pain was felt and I forgot I even hurt it.  A few days later I did a tougher than normal bike ride into work over the Horsetooth dams.  My knee was not so happy.  This began a cycle of frustration and pain anytime I was on my bike—my favorite recreation and exercise.  After a series of “traditional” treatments such as ice and ibuprofen and a visit to the knee doctor to confirm it was nothing serious and no surgery was required my frustration continued.  Although things improved a little, getting back to my old self was not happening.  Physical therapy began and helped tremendously, but still I was only at 80%. Through the winter I was able to snowboard and telemark ski without any serious pain or feeling like I should be taking it easy.  As we progressed through the sessions into the spring, I could feel myself becoming stronger and was again able to really enjoy cycling, not just do it for some minor exercise.  Other nagging issues like neck, hip and glute pain has also been significantly reduced after my sessions with Heather. This summer I finally did that ride in to work that started it all.  I did it faster and with less pain than I did even before the knee injury. This past week I participated in a mountain bike race and had my best finish ever!!  Beyond helping me enjoy my favorite pastime again Heather has taught me how to me more self-aware of my body and the things I am doing to it and how to adjust/modify behavior to reduce the negative impacts of everyday life and my hobbies on my body.  In addition to Rolfing, Somatic Experiencing was incredibly interesting and has been a technique that I can do on my own now to help relieve chronic pain areas.  If you are looking to take back your health I would highly recommend visiting Heather.

Heather provides an amazing service; she is incredibly knowledgeable and provides a holistic healing experience.  Heather has great intuition and understanding of body mechanics, allowing her to find areas to work on in the body that even I was not able to identify.  She is a great detective and is able to trace back specific bodily concerns to past traumatic events.  During my time with her, she provided tremendous insight gained from her studies of anthropology and own life experience that helped me revolutionize my diet and be more aware of the subtleties of my physiological arousal system.  I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a dedicated practitioner, especially considering that her price is better than anyone else in town.

Heather is truly compassionate towards others and is honest in how she approaches her work. I came to her confused and in pain after seeing many other practitioners who pushed their theory on me, didn't really listen, and told me everything that was wrong with me. When I met Heather, I felt like I was seen and heard. This helped me to understand my body better, have hope, and to have compassion for myself.

I started see Heather about 2 ½ years ago after a friend recommended I try visiting a Rolfer for the pain and stiffness I was having in my neck and shoulders. I was amazed at the how quickly the Rolfing helped my neck and shoulders and didn't expect how much better I felt overall. As I have continued seeing Heather I have found her to be an amazing resource on many aspects of my health and wellbeing. She always recommends books and people to further my understanding of health. There is a constant giving in her approach, and I feel grateful for working with her.

Heather Wright and her modalities used in Compassionate Rolfing have been instrumental in helping me heal both mentally and physically from past surgery trauma. She also taught me tools to empower myself and move beyond fear and pain, tools which have proved invaluable in my life. Heather truly embodies the name of her business: "Compassionate Rolfing," as she is intuitive and compassionate, kind, and highly skilled at what she does. I cannot recommend her highly enough. She is the best.

Heather offers a combination of healing services that have benefitted my health, and the health of many family and friends, in profound ways. She has a solid understanding of the physical body itself and the effects that trauma, stress, and thought patterns have on the body. Her technical training in structural and energetic modalities combined with her highly cultivated presence with you and your body enable her to offer a deep and long-lasting effect that is hard to find anywhere else. She offers a highly integrated healing that helps us to improve our condition physically, emotionally, and mentally. Thank you, Heather!

Through Rolfing, SE, her mindful conversations before and after sessions, and her wide network of knowledgeable holistic practitioners, Heather changed the way I think, move, and feel in the world. She always made herself available when I needed assistance, and even went out of her way to accommodate my schedule when my life got hectic. When I lived in Colorado, I recommended her to many friends (who also had great experiences), and I couldn't say enough about how the work she does and the way she cares for her clients. I only wish she could have moved with me when I left!

Within a series of 10 Rolfing sessions over a few months Heather’s caring, gentle, professional and healing hands eliminated the back tightness I had been suffering from for 2 decades.  Therapy with stretches, back/core exercises and chiropractic care over the previous few years had also helped.  However, it was the Rolfing technique that finally permanently relieved all back pain.

—Sincerely and much thanks to Heather Wright, Jennifer Logan, M.D.

I was immediately drawn to Heather because of the name of her work—Compassionate Rolfing, and it is this compassion that flows through everything that she has done for me. Heather uses her compassion in her wholistic approach to wellness. At first, I was a little uncomfortable sharing with her because I didn't see the connection between my emotional/spiritual being and my physical being, even though I knew there was a relationship; I just didn't think that's what I needed right then. Thankfully, Heather saw through to the truth, and approached my needs from all angles in a sensitive and respectful manner. The somatic work that we have done gives me the space to handle stressful or emotional issues before I over-react. I feel grounded after my work with her and trust her with all of my mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical needs. She serves a vital role in my journey of wellness and wholeness, and I look forward to our continued growth as I am confident in the success of our progress based on the success that I have experienced (and others have noticed in me) so far.

Heather's background in anthropology is a great foundation for her Rolfing expertise.  I have learned so much in my sessions with her while being able to overcome issues that had stopped working using other alternative methods.

After many years of seeing a chiropractor for a neck injury where I’d receive a quick fix and only temporary relief, I decided to try something different. After seeing Heather for the first time, I experienced a deeper level of healing and pain relief than I ever had in the years of seeing the chiropractor. Heather brings a beautiful blend of compassion, skill, extensive knowledge and understanding of the body to each session. Always grateful to receive her work.

I have been a client of Ms. Wright for over one year.  When I began treatment, I had a severely injured back muscle on my left side, along with a very painful left hip flexor and a neck injury from 30 years ago that gave me intense headaches.  I signed up for the 10-session Rolfing program that proved to be exactly what my body needed after over 40 years of wildland firefighting that included over 80 parachute jumps into fires.

Ms. Wright quickly concentrated on my three main problem areas which enabled me to have a more pain-free wildland fire season during 2013 and a much more enjoyable lifestyle.  I was out over 80 days on wildland fires in 2013, hiking many miles most days and sleeping on the ground.  Due to the regimen of Rolfing sessions, I was able to maintain my fitness level by running 4-5 miles 5-6 days per week, lifting weights three times per week and swimming 3-5 times per week.  Prior to the Rolfing sessions, I was in constant back and hip pain which hindered my fitness program to keep in shape to fight wildland fires.

Ms. Wright is very knowledgeable of human anatomy and how the muscle and skeletal system work together and how to effectively treat a person’s unique problem.  She is extremely skillful in her Rolfing techniques in quickly relieving muscle and joint pain which results in providing full range-of-motion again for my entire body.  Following a Rolfing session with Ms. Wright, I am able to get back to exercising and working my body without pain and with a good range of motion.

I continue to visit Ms. Wright each month since my 10-session initial treatment program.  In these sessions, Ms. Wright has focused on my problem areas which have resulted in an almost eliminating my back pain and significantly reducing the discomfort and pain in my neck that has bothered me for 30 years.

I would highly recommend anyone with muscle pain, range-of-motion pain or complications to visit Ms. Wright and take advantage of her skills of using Rolfing techniques to improve quality of life.  The treatments I have received have greatly improved my quality of life due to reduced muscle pain and have allowed me to continue to train hard to continue my work on wildland fires.  I should mention that I am 63 years old and have fought fires for over 42 years.  It is in large part due to the Rolfing treatments that I have had over the past years that is keeping me performing at a high-level for my age.

Since I began working with Heather a few months ago, I've experienced dramatic and POSITIVE changes in my body's posture, alignment and comfort. I've been able to heal from old injuries, and I've been able to let go of "friction" and "tensions" I was holding by choice and by habit, so I'm experiencing greater comfort, ease and health every day. I also have a deeper awareness for how and where stress manifests in my mind, body and spirit as tension, pain and dis-ease. Through that awareness I've been able to make intentional changes in both my thoughts and behaviors. Heather truly is compassionate, in all aspects of communication and in her therapy modalities. The best testimonial I can give, though, is that after my first three sessions, my husband noticed the difference in my mind, body and spirit and began working with Heather, too. If you live with pain, physical or emotional stress, and/or have lived through any type of trauma, come work with Heather. She has the skills, compassion and capacity to get you and your health back on track.

I am grateful to have found something that I am seeing results and a true change. For years I have tried anything to get unstuck from the patterns that keep me mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually sick. SSP and Heather’s support and expertise have helped me to grow and flourish into someone who has the capacity to handle anything the world throws her way.
